It depends when you take them. If it is before your period is due even an early results test might not detect the hormone. They are 99% accurate when they are positive and that is only true 1 week after a missed period. They are very accurate the first day of a missed period but occassionally will not detect the HCG until 7 days later. A blood test at the drs will be more accurate than a home test.

Well they are extremely accurate on testing positive, but if you get a negative result, you may want to take another in a couple weeks, because it may be to early to tell. Good luck I hope you get the result you are hoping for.

Positive results are usually pretty sound, but negatives can be wrong for a number of reasons from insufficient wetting of device, not enough hormones in urine stream yet, testing too early...lots of variables. If it's neg and period doesn't show in a few days retest or see a doctor.
