I moved up here 6 years ago, and right away started finding abused and abandoned dogs, finding the local animal shelter a sub-standard environment, (Quebec has the worst animal rights laws ever) I started re-habilitating all the dogs that come to my door and finding homes for them! I find homes for about 6 dogs a year on avrage, not to mention the scores of cats. I find kittens in the woods all the time. WHY DO PEOPLE DO THIS!!!!DO THEY REALIZE THAT DOGS AND CATS ARE NOT WILD ANIMALS? 3 weeks ago I found a hugely pregnant female, it was sub-zero tempratures, I tracked down the owner, I gave him a peice of my mind, ya know what he said! natural selection! as if an animal is natural when it has been removed from nature for thousands of generations. what is wrong with people and why do they insist on being jerks to something that only wants to love them!!!

People do that for many different reasons. A lot of people are uneducated about domesticated animals (and many other things for that matter.) Good for you for stepping up and doing something. Those animals deserve someone like you finding them a good home.

They do this knowing that the animals will either be lost, starve or be killed by predators or other people. A dog cannot survive for long in the wild. It is wrong and it sounds like they need a no-kill shelter or something that can help find homes for these animals.
Some people just don't care at all. They think oh well we can always get another and if it get pregnant than we know where to take it. Bad way of thinking but its true.

I know, people are so stupid. They just think "oh, its a just a animal with no feelings, it descened from wolves so it should be able to live in the woods" That guy that dropped off that pregnet girl was a idiot i hope he burns in hell, i'm glad you told him off. I would never give up a dog or any animal even to a humane society. People just don't know that they have a responsibilty. Some people are just insensitive and careless of animals' feelings, and its so obvious when you see a mistreated animal, you can look in there innocent eyes and tell the sadness and stress they have been through. I'm glad you take the dogs in, I heard about one woman in the US. and she took in over 200 dogs, people were so mean they just dropped them off at her house, and then for some reason people think that the woman taking in the dogs is weird and must be crazy. Which is pretty stupid because shes just trying to help. Hopefully, people will learn. I have took in 2 kittens before, but no dogs have came yet. I took in a mouse, and 2 chipmunks too, but they both died. I helped out birds too, if they are in trouble.

I bet the Animal Rights laws aren't helping either. Obviously people could get caught leaving a dog anywhere else, and even bringing them to a shelter might cause problems when AR laws get bad. So the more Animal Rights laws there are the more dogs and cats will be abandoned in areas where no one is watching.

more suitable positive question: With such truly some dogs in animal shelters throughout the U. S., why do human beings continually breed mixes (fantastically dressmaker dogs), refuse to get Fido fastened, and flow about breeding dogs even as they have not were given a clue? I particularly have a purebred dogs I were given from a respected breeder. The breeder breeds perhaps a muddle a year, and all pups are spoken for before the dogs are bred even. They breed pups for the betterment of the bred, and that is the in reality reason absolutely everyone could breed any dogs. I were given my purebred Aussie because i wanted a predictable length, temperament, grooming needs, exercising criteria, a dogs not likely to get better-being subject matters because of reliable breeding, and one which I knew from my study could in good structure for my existence type. With a mixed breed from a preserve no longer of that is for particular, and inspite of the truth that you'll get a good dogs that became left using living house subject matters, your only as likely to get a dogs that were given left there using behavioral subject matters. I volunteer at my interior sight animal preserve, and that i'm more suitable than chuffed to attempt to help human beings get the right dogs for his or her family members, yet regrettably i'm only no longer keen to flow with the unpredictable for my personal residence (regardless of the truth that if I had room for yet another dogs right this moment).

They do it because they are stupid and cruel. Maybe they need to be dumped off in the wilderness in the freezing cold and see how well they do. I hate people like that. But sadly, I'm not surprised. I work with a rescue group in WI and we just recently received a liter of tiny pups, only a few weeks old and with out mama, abandoned in a box in sub-zero temps. Thankfully they all survived. Some people are just sick and have no feelings on conscience.

I think a lot of them think that the people that live out in the country will gladly accept them. We had someone dump a dog on our property that was involved in a bite case.

First I just wanted to tell you that you are an awesome person. I don't understand why people abandon dogs on the sides of roads and in forests period.
