I have to do a report on the evidence against and for global warming. I just need facts, so does anyone know a good site that has evidence for or against global warming? Serious answers only please. Thanx so much.

Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is probably the most reliable source for factual information.

It is a UN organization. According to their website: "The role of the IPCC is to assess on a comprehensive, objective, open and transparent basis the scientific, technical and socio-economic information relevant to understanding the scientific basis of risk of human-induced climate change, its potential impacts and options for adaptation and mitigation. The IPCC does not carry out research nor does it monitor climate related data or other relevant parameters. It bases its assessment mainly on peer reviewed and published scientific/technical literature. "

Therefore, since the IPCC looks at the wide scope of peer reviewed and published literature, it gives a better overall picture. They have several reports based on scientific consensus.

Since the panel looks at research rather than doing the research, it is less subject to bias. If you look at funding sources for the few scientists who don't support the consensus view, you'll often find a trail leading back to the oil and fossil fuel industry. For instance, Robert Balling, a leading global warming skeptic, received half a million dollars from the oil industry. Others have taken money directly from OPEC.

Anyway, I think this is an excellent site for factual data.

I don't know a web site but I do know some evidence for global warming. Basically, the sun's rays warm the Earth and when it trys to get out it doesn't because of all the pollution thickening the atmosphere. So all the heat is getting trapped in the Earth melting all the ice which means that the ocean will rise, continents will possibly drown, and all the animal that lives in the south and/or north pole will go extinct.

Hold on folks! The global warming chicken-littles are backpedaling like crazy. Stand by! The cat is out of the bag. The junk science is being exposed and many former global warming supporter are changing their tune. You may find many sites with loads of evidence the problem is the evidence is wrong. Their figures are wrong. Their math 180 degrees out of phase.

Developing!

The biggest cause of global warming is the fact (whitch most people don't want to talk about) is that there are too many people on the planet. The world is severly over populated and this is the reason we use so much fossil fuels and have to cut down so many trees etc.

That is the cause of global warming.

If we only had say 1 billion people on the planet instead of the 7 billion we have now there would be no problem.

The global warming theory is a joke.

Little known NASA data shows most of changes in the temperature of the earth are caused by changes in the sun.

Facts:
1) 6,000 years ago, the earth was hotter than it is today. 6,000 years is less than a second when compared with the age of the earth.
2) Temperatures dropped in the 1950's and 1990's when CO2 levels were increasing.
3) 140,000 years ago the earth had record CO2 levels and there were no gasoline powered cars.
4) 20,000 years ago, Canada was one big ice cube and half of the U.S. was covered with Ice. The grand canyon was formed by melting ice ages over 20 million years.
5) The temperature of the Earth has only increased by 0.65 of a degree in the last 110 years. There were faster increases in temperatures around 10,000 years ago and there were no gasoline powered cars during that time

7) NASA has said that great temperature changes are normal. Just 10,000 years ago, the earth warmed up extremely in less than 20 years. There were not many people around at that time.
NASA:
"Rapid changes between ice ages and warm periods (called interglacials) are recorded in the Greenland ice sheet. Occurring over ONE OR TWO DECADES, the warming of the Earth at the end of the last ice age "
NASA link: http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/Study/Paleoclimatology_Evidence/Images/gisp2_temperature.gif
8) NASA scientific data has shown most of the changes of temperature are due to changes in the Sun. Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto all have global warming right now
9) Also, strong hurricanes are normal. Hundreds of years ago, they used to sink ships off of the coast of Florida.

THIS GLACIER DIDN'T EXIST 7,000 YEARS ago. And that was after the Ice Age. "A few thousand years ago, there were no glaciers here at all"..."Back then we would have been standing in the middle of a forest"

in case you opt for to receive provide funds for climate study, do you imagine that you receives a cheque in case you're saying," i elect the provide, as i imagine that i visit tutor that the figures that the present paradigm is depending upon are incorrect" ? the finished environmentalist, David Bellamy, has been silenced, and refused airtime. there continues to be no shown causative link between the quantity of Co2 contained in the ambience, and a upward push in international temperatures. The WWWF images of the polar bears swimming were taken contained in the Arctic summer; even as the ice cap partly melts, as they couldn't get up to image contained in the iciness. The ice become too thick! The East-Anglian uni study figures. "Oh! The figures do not journey our expectancies. Oh properly. save quiet. because all of us understand that we are accurate." even as the perception, and the religion is extra major than squarely dealing with the valid doubts of a great number of non provide-supported scientists, technological expertise has been superceded via religious zealots. As Oliver Cromwell colourfully suggested." I pray thee, contained in the bowels of Christ, evaluate that thou mayest be incorrect."

Is global warming a man-made menace?

not all there are natural cycles in the planets life
but a lot is influenced by mans existance ,and this is increasing with overpopulation, putting strains on Natural resources and increasing contaminations as well as destructions of essential componants the ensure living conditions for all life forms

some home truths

politicians and scientists who work for politicians have downplayed the facts because solutions are expensive and means change and change effects many people income, and most of the world is kept in the dark of the real things that are going on.

in North Africa,India,Mexico ,millions of people are effected by land loss and desertification

in recent times thousands of people have died because of exessive heat, usually old people.in India ,Mexico and France,
deforestation causing desertification, the desert conditions causing very cold nights and scorching hot days

in china, thousands of what used to be farmers are running for their lives from the dust storms that have burried their towns and turned their lands into dessert, the globe where they were got to hot for them .
and instead of producing food they are now needing it from some where else, and they will drastically effect the world food prices when they start buying water in the form of grains ,at any cost destabalising governments, in some countries ,could be the result
(are you seeing more Chinese around interested in agricultural lands ,we do here in Mexico)

,the Sahara is growing by 7 kilometers a year
and all of the desserts we know are a results of mans actions ,and they are increasing ,not getting less ,in the dinosaurs days ,there were no desserts.

collectively this planet is drying up because of bad farming practices like, over grazing and fertilizers,

as far as the food production is concerned, Global warming or some of its effects are serious, rising seas result in landloss

each degree rise in temperature means 10%crop loss

more landloss because of desertification every year,we have less areble land to produce food ,for an extra 70 million people ,

and there is less and less water (because of deforestation),to irrigate this production ,
and there are less and less farmers to do it..
who are overpumping deep carbon aquifiers
who are plowing more and more unstable lands because they have lost so many million hectares to desertification ,
because of bad farming practises ,such as using fertilizers and heavy machinary or over grazing

RISING SEAS
The northpole is melting ,and we will know it without ice in our life times.
this does not affect the sea level because it is ice that is already in the water.but the melting ice from Green land and the south pole ,are another matter.

Global warming is in theory reversable, but it will mean global co operation between all countries ,and taking into account human nature and the world politics ,it is unlikely that this will happen,

At least not untill we are all in the middle of planetary disastres and it becomes a battle for the survival of humanity every where.

SOLUTIONS
if you want to help the planet ,plant a tree every week ,if everyone on the planet did we we would be able to reverse the destructive processes

reduce carbon emisions, and they are already working on that by alternative forms of energy and regulations on carbon producing materials, aerosol cans, burning rubbish, industrial chimneys, powerplants etc.

the capture of carbon and the production of water and assist the aquiferous manta.

the world bank pays large subsidies for reforrestation to capture carbon and the best tree for this is the Pawlonia

Waterharvesting projects ,such as millions of small dams.to redirect over ground waterflows from the rains into the ground to supply subteranian water supplies.

the protection of existing forrests.

stop building more highways, urban planning to include vegetation stop building cities encourage people to return to the land to conduct their business from there which now has become possible thanks to the internet.

education to motivate people to auto sufficiency by building more home food gardens.

education on environmental awareness
education on family planning to curb over´populaion

Agricultural education and improvements to follow the principals or sustainability and soil management.

more environmental or land ,design to prevent bush fires, such as--fire breaks

,more dams.regulations and control for public behaviour

alternative effeciant public transport to discourage the use of the internal conbustion engine

recicling wastes,limit water use
