i have brown hair, and i got a curly perm that didnt work that well.

yes 45 hours won't make a big difference you can wash

Sure, that's long enough. Why don't you like it? If it's too curly, give it time. I used to get perms, and it always took about 2 weeks for it to relax to the point I wanted it. Until then, it seemed like a bad wig sitting on my head. Condition it well, in the meantime, and be patient. You might really like it in 2 weeks time.

If you are African American then don't wash it for 2 to 3 weks because we do not need to wash our hair as offtin. But if you are not then I guess you can.
