No one did. And God didn't tell Abraham to do so in order to "find out' if Abraham would obey. That means that God didn't know something in advance. It was for Abraham's benefit and for ours that this scene was played out.
I'm sorry, I was thinking of people commanded by God to do this. I believe you're referring to Ahaz. It's in 2nd Kings, chapter 16.
Rico; you are accusing God of what these men did. Just because something's in the Bible doesn't mean it's OK with God. We really don't know what happened to her. I have read that the child was not burned, but could not marry because she was now bound by her father's vow to live in service to God. God would never require a human sacrifice, and if Jephthah did that, it was against God's will. There was also a practice in place in those days whereby even an animal could be redeemed for a price, so there's no reason to assume that God demanded a young girl to be burned alive for some rash vow.

I know this one and it was his daughter...........First how could anyone worship a god who was so dysfunctional he would ask a man to sacrifice his child is beyond me but all that aside, in the book of judges, Chapter 11, the military leader, Jephthah made an offer to god that if god would guarantee his victory over the Ammonites, Jephthah would without fail sacrifice as a burnt offering :whoever cometh forth of the doors of my house to meet me on my return" Jephthat did indeed slaughter the Ammonites and god being ominipotent and all would surely have know that it would be his only daughter who would greet him with timbrels and dances. Following a trip to the mountains to get a little earthly joy before her demise, his daughter returned to be cooked by Jephthah. God must be a misogynist because women seemed to be offered up to be raped (see Lot and his daughters in Genesis) on a regular basis and in this case was a human sacrifice. Some of you religious types don't know your bible.
