I'm not exactly sure what the proper etiquitte for a girl asking a guy is. Since I would be the one doing the asking, am I supposed to pay for us both, for just my ticket, or is he supposed to pay?

Most people who ask someone out pays for the date. Some people split the cost and one pays for the movie, dance or whatever and the other buys the pizza afterwards.

When you INVITE someone to accompany you to a prom YOU pay. doesn't matter if you are a female or a male. However it is customary that when the female is paying that she discretely gives the money to the male just prior to payment. If you are getting your tickets prior to the prom go with him, give him the money to pay for the tickets.

whe i was in high school, i asked a guy that was a freshman to my prom, he wasnt my boyfriend he was more like my best friend but we had this attraction that was crazy. because its a hard topic to talk about with him you might want to ask him if he is willing to go in halfs on everything or you can just pay for it on your own if you have the money

Your best bet is to talk to your date since you are asking him you should expect that he pay for his tux you for your dress and for the cost of going to prom. (proper) However, you can discuss it with him or his parents and decide if he will pick up more of the tab. Hope this helps..

Talk to him, if you don't feel comfortable talking about that, the rule is whoever asks pays, for everything.
