My friends' cats always mumble in their sleep usually its just a little purring that sounds like mumbling

Both of my cats mumble, snore & drool in their sleep. So does the dog. Its completely normal. : )

occasionally, I hear one of mine "chatter" a little when they are dreaming, but not really a mumble.
a couple of mine do snore, and one has a pretty loud nose whistle!

Sure I've seen cats do that. They are dreaming and therefore talking in their sleep. It is cute.
