It depends what the material of the box is because if its plastic she could cut her mouth, Just try not to let her have access to the boxes if possible. Good Luck!
PS (If it is anything she could harm herself on rub lemon juice or bitter apple on the corner of the box, cats dont like the taste! then hopefully she wont go back, or when you catch her in the act spray her with a water gun (Not the mist))

Won't do her any harm, my 2 cats chew paper (sometimes important docs) and the corners of boxes. Oh and one of them chew the buds off plants, which is somewhat annoying, in fact he runs up the apple trees and bites all the buds off in the Spring. I think it's like babies who put everything in their mouths.

I suppose you could spray stuff on the boxes - you can get stuff called "Chew off" or something from Pet Smart - we sprayed it on the arms of the settee to stop them scratching - they don't like the smell (or taste on their paws).

If the boxes are made of cardboard, I don't believe it will do her any harm to gnaw on them. I'm not sure why cats do this myself; they may just find it entertaining.
I had a beautiful large white male cat named Jack Frost who enjoyed opening the cupboard door and chewing open boxes of dry cat food, even though his food dish was full...maybe he just thought he was being cool by "fending for himself" :)

My cat does the same thing. He chews on the box until he makes a hole big enough for him to fit into, then he hides in there. I think he does it so he can get into the box,

I don't know why they do it but I don't think you can break her of it unless you spray her with water every time you catch her.
My cat used to nibble the corners of books when I was *reading them*---they do it because they're cats and cats are contrary! LOL
Gotta love em though.

It's probably just a habit. My cats do that too. It will soon grow out of it.
