To give your hair a great shine and help remove soap build up:
Slightly diluted vinegar is fantastic for shine. The easiest way to apply vinegar is in a spray bottle before shower. Then rinse out thoroughly.
Add a couple of tablespoons of lemon juice to your rinse water.
Applying the milk to your hair and then rinsing with cool water. Next, rub an ice cube along the length of your strands, then comb.
Add a couple of tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to your rinse water.
Mash up an avocado with a tablespoon of olive oil and a tsp of baking powder. Mix until well combined and then work the mixture through your hair and then wash out.
Ingrdients: 2 cups distilled water, 1/3 cup chopped fresh rosemary leaves - In small saucepan combine ingredients and bring to boil. Continue to boil 5 minutes. Let cool, then pour into spray bottle. Keep refrigerated and mist on hair to add shine, tone scalp, or invigorate skin.
Mayonnaise is a great conditioner for dry hair. Depending on the length of your hair, apply approximately 1/2 cup of mayonnaise to your dry hair. Work into hair really well and then cover your hair with a plastic bag, allowing to set for about 15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and then shampoo as usual.
Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Time Renewal Shampoo and Conditioner work wonders. Both are available at drugstores.
But for more instant gratification, dab or spray a shine-enhancing styling product like Bumble and Bumble BB Shine (best for fine hair; available at www.bumbleandbumble.com) or Neutrogena Triple Moisture Smooth Shine Anti-Frizz Cream (best for thick, coarse hair; available at drugstores) on dry hair. It makes it look spectacular.
Hope this helped - there's a ton of information out there! Best of luck!

Without using any product, you can try this for shiny-er hair.
When you're in the shower, turn the water as cold as is comfortable for you. This causes hair folicles to contract and will add natual shine to your hair. If you blow-dry, there should be a button for cold air on your dryer. A 30 shot of cold air all over after blow drying helps too. Another method which takes a little time is one weekend a month, mix 1 part white vinegar and 3 parts water (Enough to cover your hair) and refrigerate it for about an hour, and rinse your hair with it. Make sure you wash well to get rid of the vinegar smell! But within a few weeks you'll notice shiny-er hair. Good luck!

This might sound crazy, but after you use a moisturizing shampoo, rinse your hair in beer! Beer is full of protein and makes your hair super sleek and shiny. Follow up with a moisturizing conditioner.

use a shampoo and conditioner with high moisturizer volume. You can also do mayonnaise treatments, or olive oil treatments. And then the rest is just taking good care of your hair. Keep it clean and brushed and be kind!

Baby oil is great! You can mix it into your shampoo or just spread some along your hair (but not too much) when its damp.
