well, ice relieves the swelling and heat relieves the pain. once the swelling was down with ice, you could put a heating pad on it, but i dont think that it will be better by tonight. the only thing you'll have going for you if you decide to play is that the hockey skates come past the ankle so a certain amount of support and pressure will be applied to it. but still, if you could at least get off tonight you might see a difference for tomorrow. good luck.

Hey - I did this a few years ago. I never did go to the doctor, but I probably should have. I still have pain in my ankle whenever I "stretch it" to the side (kind of the same as rolling again, but in a controlled manner). I have no idea if you'll be ok for your game tomorrow, but best thing is to take an anti-inflammatory/pain med, and keep ice on it. Put a wrap around it as well. I was ok to walk on the next day (it hurt), and ok totally in about a week.

Just put your ankle in hot water, take it out, massage it with ice, and repeat the process a few times.
Then, go to a near-by pharmacy and get a cream that relieves bruising. I don't know what it's called but I'm sure pharmacist there knows.
I don't think you will be fine in just one day, but that should help.

You should get an xray if it was swollen and bruised that fast. That's a sign of something serious. The best thing for now is elevate it, put ice on it for the swelling.

sorry to say but you pro bally broke or fractured your ankle, id go get an xray, elevate leg, put on pillow and put a zip-lock bag of ice on sore spot, id get a sub and see doctor just to be safe, you only get two feet, take care of it, or you'll have to give up hockey altogether

Ice it for twenty minutes at a time. The swelling is your body's natural protection for the injury. You need to get an x-ray to see if it's broken!
