My best friend from university gave me some very beautiful Christmas tree decorations (and stockings to hang up that she made). At Christmas when I'm decorating the tree I always think of her. She also sent a matching Christmas stocking to each of my children when they were born. It's wonderful to see them all hanging on Christmas Eve and think of a wonderful friend.

You know, it's interesting, it's my most used and loved item. It's an electric frying pan - really large and deep so I can make absolutely everything and anything in it. It was given to us by one of my sister's mother-in-law, who has passed since, but I do think of her and what a great choice she made!
I do have other gifts from the wedding like this - the biggest is my china set, a beautifully decorated one with a Ukrainian pattern on it, given to us by my whole family. Or special crystal pieces, given by different family members. We had gotten a nice barbecue from the staff at the school where I used to teach right before we got married, so that was special til it died.

I was given a set of vanity items...perfume bottle, trinket dish and vase made from beautiful bone china as a wedding shower gift twenty years ago from a group of women I worked with at the time. I remember them, the good times working with them, a long term friendship that resulted from that group of gals. Although the marriage didnt last, I have wonderful memories of my circle of friends from that job and I still own the vanity set.

We encourage the smallest members of our family to give the wedding couples hand-made picture frames, with a picture of themselves with the couple. ( some of these are hand drawn lol) I have 7 I display in the den. I love them and remember each and everyone of these special people.every day. And yes. the giver thinks of you for the oddest reasons at the oddest times of the day lol ...especially that time when you two went........
well you can fill in the rest... lol

I have only been married for almost a year but the one I remember the most is the honeymoon which was paid by his grandparents. I don't know if I will remember that in the long term but I do now.

A tablecloth - very hardwearing linen and a beautiful and unique design - it has lasted 37 years so far and shows no sign of wearing out ... and it makes me think of the dear friends who gave it to us.

My in-laws gave us an incredible set of cook ware right before we got married. I love them! I cook everyday and when we have guests they always want my pots! I think about my mother in law everytime I cook. Ha ha, she said she was just so excited that I could cook and she knew I'd love them. She was right! My husband is very glad too! :)

A family heirloom Bible where you can record births, deaths, etc. It is beautiful and something I will cherish passing on to my children.
