If you are certain that you have consumed no alcohol then the answer must lie in the medication you have been taking.Mouth wash does have a high alcohol content and can contaminate breath samples.I think you would need to have swallowed a quantity for it to show on a urine test though.Have you taken any over the counter cold or cough medicine, these are often laced with alcohol? EDIT,just looked up Anesol- 70% alcohol!

listerine has more alcohol in it than other mouthwashes. But it wouldn't show up in a urine test unless you actually drank it. amoxicillin is an antibiotic, so that wouldn't be it. I'm not sure what anesol is, but it has the -ol ending which leads me to believe it might have something to do with it.

I'm a nurse. Any mouth wash has alcohol in it and so does cold/cough medicine. I would ask to retake the test and explain the situation.

Depends on when you took the urine test in comparison to when you went to the dentist, but that result is definitely possible.

Listerine may have alcohol in it, also, if you are taking a liquid cold medicine that would do it.

There is only one reason for alcohol in your system, you were drinking. Nice try at finding an excuse/lie to tell your PO.
