ok there are some issues on your description that have me slightly worried and which you may desire to be addressing or checking on. First, 12 to fourteen years is the common age span of tom cats reckoning on the care and well being of the animal, no remember if or no longer they are spayed or neutered, indoor or out door. so which you're doing all those issues stunning by skill of looking after her and retaining her in doorways. ok now with the no longer ingesting, cats generally do no longer decide for to consume what they won't scent and you reported that she has a grimy patch round her eyes. between the possibilites is that she has an greater respiration an infection. you will see discharge coming from the nasal section and around the nostril and interior the eyes. additionally the eyes can get watery plenty. different hazard is a little greater intense, yet back you will could desire to take her to a vet to analyze her out. the different i'm conversing of is liver or kidney failure or issues. remains utilising the clutter field on a universal foundation? If her hair is uninteresting and thinning, greater desirable than lieky she is laid low with dehydration. gently pull the floor up from the back. Does it bypass stunning back to sort or does it take a couple of minutes? If it take a couple of minutes than it rather is a good indicator she is dehydrated. Cats will generally replace their habit quite without postpone around their enjoyed proprietors while something isn't stunning. you may desire to bypass and get her regarded at stunning away. it could desire to be something so user-friendly as a chilly or as intense as organ failure. replaced into she ever examined for FIV or leukemia?

Not eating is a serious problem. Although, he probably has a common virus, I would still take him to see the vet. My cat had the same problem- wouldn't eat. Try some chicken soup. Make sure it's not too hot or it will burn your cat's tongue. If your cat still doesn't eat then definitely go to the vet. Don't worry- your cat probably just has a cold. Don't force your cat to eat if he doesn't want to. His body is just busy fighting the virus and doesn't want to waste any energy digesting food. Good luck!

You need to take him to the vet immediately. You don't say how old he is but my friend had an elderly cat that believe it or not had a thyroid problem. This can be rectified with medication or an operation. It might not be this but whatever go to the vet as better safe than sorry! Hope he is better soon!

A vet would need to examine the cat, not just depend on Yahoo Answers. Your cat could have a virus. Has it been drinking water? Dehydration is often the cause of illness or death.

The best way to find out if a vet can help is to take him to the vet. You'll certainly get a better diagnosis from someone who knows what they're doing and can actually examine the cat than sight-unseen online!

Id get him checked out by the vet. Go first thing, i know they charge a hell of a lot but if you have pet insurance you should be fine. Traet the cat as if it was you or a child. You wouldn't keep a child away from the docs if he/she had same symptoms so go and see i everything is ok. Good luck and let us know how it went.xxxx

Even a vet can't help without physically seeing the cat-take him to a real vet ASAP!

I have seen this before with my cat.....
She had a small scratch on her right front leg....
I called the vet and he said to bring her right in.
It turns out she had a small infection in the scratch....
A shot of amoxicillin and she was better.
A day later, she was back on her feet.

Cats systems slow to a crawl if they have an infection.
The will sleep....not each or if they do, very little.

I would take your cat to a vet right away!

Be very careful, cat flu can take a hold so quickly. I lost two cats with this illness and it was awful. Get your pet to the vet asap.
