French Toast

Ingredients:
4 eggs
1/2 cup instant nonfat dry milk
1 cup water
1/2 tsp salt
1 Tbsp granulated sugar
6 slices bread (medium thickness*)
2 Tbsp butter
- Confectioner's sugar

Recipe Number: 1259
Servings: 3

Instructions:
In a small bowl beat eggs, nonfat dry milk, water, salt and sugar until smooth and blended. Lay slices of bread in a flat baking dish. Pour mixture over bread, turn to coat evenly; cover; refrigerate overnight. Next morning melt butter in skillet. Saute until golden brown; turn on other side. Add more butter if needed. Serve with syrup.

*Raisin bread makes an interesting variation.

hope this helped!

Slightly stale bread or day old bread is best. I like something multigrain or a muesli style bread. For 4 slices of french toast I use 2 eggs, about 1/4 cup of milk or cream, 1 teaspoon of vanilla and a bit of cinnamon or nutmeg.

Whisk in a bowl, then dip bread on both sides. Place dipped bread in a hot, greased fry pan and cook on both sides until golden. Top with maple syrup, icing sugar, or fruit. Or anything else that looks appealing.

use thick bread like its called toaster bread I think from the deli. Then mix your eggs with a drop of milk per egg mix well. then fry on higher heat than you have been doing stir your egg mixture each time before you dip your toast on each side dont soak.

use thick texas toast. and only dip it in for a second and throw it on a HOT frying surface until brown and flip, what ever you do don't let the bread sit in the batter. also you could add brown sugar and cinnamon to your egg batter.

I use any frozen bread , thick or thin , your choice
Mix 2 eggs
1 cup milk
Dip in mix put right on the hot buttered griddle , don't let it set in the egg mix or on a plate .

cook till nice & brown

My grand kids love it & beg for more
