Can anyone help my son for his school project, He has to research Judge Jeffreys ('Hanging Judge'). The area we are stuck on finding info. on is the four dog statues on what was the old gateway to Acton Hall in Wrexham (the family estate), Apparently the dogs are significant to the family. If anyone knows of any pictures on the net (we found a very small one on Google), please let us know
All the very best Nick (and Sam).

there is a picture of judge Jeffrey in erddig hall, they we friends of the york family

Jeffrey's road in wrexham is named after the Jeffrey family.

the dogs are a grey hound or whip type and have been replaced because the originals were lost, and for many years the gates did not have the four dogs on them.

i have seen what looks one of the original dogs in the wrexham museum, at the old police station.

i believe they may have web site or at least they are developing one. the museum is open Saturday and weekdays from 10 am

the wrexham web site www.wrexham.gov.uk
the museum email address museum@wrexham.gov.uk
