i'm trying to avoid anything that has bread , fat or sugar in it. but everything i know to eat for breakfast (bagels, wafels, cereal, muffins, bacon, eggs etc.) is bread based, has fat and sugar in it.

what else is there to eat for breakfast? and no, i don't have tons of time in the morning to prepare a health nut breakfast.

thanks

When I go on a diet my breakfast consists of a very plain cereal(like Cheerios or Rice Krispies) with fresh sliced fruit and low fat(no fat) milk. Then I have a cup of black coffee on my way out the door.

The night before I get breakfast ready by putting a cup of cereal in a bowl and put a piece of fruit and knife near the bowl. I also get the coffee pot ready so I can plug it in, as soon as I roll out of bed. Has worked for many years.

oatmeal, rice krispies, mini wheats are still good. All cereals high in fiber, low in sugar and fat can still be considered a good breakfast. Yogurt and fresh fruit is always good. But keep in mind when you eat such a breakfast that you should have a mid-day snack(one between breakfast and lunch), and one between lunch and dinner. This way you insure that you hunger isn't as intense when you come home and you don't start digging thru the refrigerator before eating dinner.

An apple and some soy nuts are great for breakfast on the run or a quick portable snack. I never leave home without them.

Fruit vegetables and protein are the way to go in the morning. Depending on the diet you are following, good healthy oatmeal made with steal cut oats is also a filling breakfast. Top it with applesauce and cinnamon.

Fruit, yogurt, juice and toast, make a nice breakfast. A slice of toast isn't going to make you fall off the diet.

You still need some carbs. Pick a bread that is healthier than white, a good multigrain is a nice contrast to the texture of the rest of the meal.

Some oatmeal, add things for flavor-like raisins, cinnamon, and bits of fruit. You can have some lowfat plain yogurt. Eggs are good, and half a grapefruit. Some wheat toast with peanut butter. Some of the cerals are good, like Kashi(have lots of fiber), with lowfat milk. Are these ok for you?

I eat bran flakes and skim milk. Or an apple(Fuji apples only, they are good).
And a little sugar or good fat is okay for you.

I know a lot of people up North are going to laugh but instant grits are good and so is oatmeal.

what about fruits? and you will have to have SOME bread-fat-sugar you cant just eliminate it. your body needs the nutrients.
Example:people on the "low carb" adkins diet started having heart attacks from not getting the right nutrinets.. so dont cut it completely off- it isnt good for you-just cut down.

High fiber but low fat/calorie cereals or breads. Fresh fruit is usually a safe bet as well. ;)

Special K and skim milk.... maybe a bran muffin for fiber, and a banana for food enjoyment. Eat a multi-vitamin like Centrum every day!
