I want to copy a game to my computer and then I want to burn it to a new CD as a backup, I was told on another (somewhat useless) forum that I need to use these two programs together.

I'm trying to get this ISO recorder thing and it's not working, i clicked on the 32-bit version and I run the setup, it installs, then it says that it was successfully installed... When i look on my start menu it's not there, when i search the computer its not there... I'm running windows Vista... not sure if that has to do with anything.

I wouldn't even mess with alcohol
use iso recorder http://www.snapfiles.com/get/ISORecorder.html
Main Page here http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm but the 1st loads faster (main just for support)

install iso recorder....very small app
put your cd in
right click cd in my computer
create iso image file

you can then right click the image and copy it to another cd or mount it with daemon tools http://www.filehippo.com/download_daemon_tools/

it depends on the game ... how i would do it is use alcohol120 or blindwrite to make an image of the disk ... then u go to a cracksite and find a crack and/or nocd for ur game and test it then put it in a folder ... then use somthing like magic iso to add the crack/nocd/and serial on a notepad (which u put all in a single folder) to a new iso created from ur previous rip ... then u can either burn that new image or mount it in alcohol120 or daemontools virtual drive to install ... u dont really need both alcohol and daemon but its useful to have both ... i generally use daemontools much more than alcohol and usually use blindwrite to make images ... anyway .. the bottom line is if u copy a game disk with anything there is a 99% chance the copy protection will not allow the copy to work reliably ... hence u need to include the crack, nocd, and serial on ur copied disk to make it a complete standalone workable copy ... the crack/nocd is readily available for halo so u shouldnt have any problems ... and u shouldnt need a disk or an image of a disk to play it once the nocd is applied ...

u use one of the other in fact with daemon tools u don't even have to burn it.
just left click on the icon u will see a Lil sub menu with yor virtual drive click that then find the folder where the img file is at then mount it yor comp will think the disk is there and install it for ya copy the crack and enjoy that simple this will also save u some disk if the sucks by doing this way
