Just remember, When the going gets heavy, DONT go Chevy. Chevy and diesel dont go good together. Stick with either the Ford 7.3L (actually made by International Truck and Engine co) or the Dodge with the Cummins ISB 5.9L. The only downfall with the Cummins ISB is they are known for the fuel transfer pumps going bad which in turn wipes out the injection pump. Do not get the Ford 6.0 liter engine (International VT-365) as it is good for nothing more than a boat anchor

The best diesel truck in the world is the Ford F250 and up...
Keep in mind that if you want to get the best one, stick to the 7.3L
as the 6.0Ls are problematic. I don't know why Ford went this route....it it isn't broke, don't fix it....
The Dodge is a good truck....the Cummins is the longest running
engine with a good reliability record, the only problem is, that the Dodge truck falls apart....
The only problem with the cummins is that it's in a Dodge truck.
If you do go Dodge, stay away from the Auto transmissions....
So...2001-2003 Ford F250-F350....with the 7.3L this is still the best truck on the road to this day.

GM by far. If you are just going off the motor than the cummins is the best but a close second is the duramax. There are more ford powerstrokes going to the shop than almost any other auto (not just trucks). The Great part about the GM is that it is matched with the Alison trans(they make semi transes)(and are bulletproof)(seriously i shot one and it dident even dent it J/K). I have owned a dodge and went through 2 transes in 6 months.(it was a brand new 2006 with 7000 miles when the first one went. And 11000 when the second one went.) Sold it and bought a GMC. And just for the record. GM is the ONLY truck still made in america. The others are made in mexico.

Dodge. The Cummins is THE BEST DIESEL. I don't care that the Duramax makes 10 more horsepower, the Cummins 6.7L will not only last longer, but it makes more useable power. Plus the Cummins is American, while the Duramax is made by Jap-crap Isuzu. Oh yeah, Dodge pick-ups were rated much higher in reliability over the last few years then GM. Ford's diesels are historically good, but I would wait for the new 6.4L if I was to buy a Ford.

I would have to say Chevy. Not really a domestic person...except for the Corvette. The only reason I would say not a Ford is the fact that they are going thru issues right now with the diesel. Not with the building but with getting them in. The company that makes them for Ford, is refusing to make them anymore. So with all the money that Ford has spent on the advertising for the new SD, may not see many. But I just like the Chevy so really I am just biased.

Dodge is the best, but ford is where its at. the new 6.4 twin turbo diesels are somethin else. and with an edge chip with attitude or platinum your rakin in so many horses. my 6.0 is on 49's and it can pull any diesel out there.

The cummins inline 6 is an incredible engine. Dodge has been using them for many years, now that the quality of the ram has been greatly improved, it mates very well to the cummins diesel. My pick.....Dodge Ram.
