I read this in a book on intuition...and the author was talking about lower energy spirits who might mean more harm than good?

It is based in the New Age belief system.
All in the universe is energy and energy is carried on Light.
Those who still have reminants of the old Fear based belief
systems feel they must protect themselves from unwanted
energy forms. "There is nothing to fear but fear itself."
Today we are beginning to understand all is from the one
Source of Creation and if we "fill and surround" ourselves with
the universal Light from that source we can intigrate universal divine awarness. It is this light that is referrenced when someone says
the are Enlightened or seek enlightenment. This light is also
known in Physics as the glue of the universe which makes all
innerconnected consciousness...thus, we are all one or of one
source.
Visualize drawing white light in through the top of your head and
filling your body and your extended aura (energy field)...

I'm not familiar with the book. As a Christian, the only white light that I can think of is the light of God/Jesus. Perhaps it is an inference that only the most powerful spirit can protect you against these others. God can do that.
