Not its a lot different from the US.
we have five main stages.

1 - start of school ages 3-11

2 - higher school ages 11-16

At this point we have to option to carry on in higher education or leave and find a job. But if you want to carry on form here you need to have the right grade and results from school to get in to college.

3 - college - ages depend, you can goto college at any age really but most are 16-20.
But if you want to carry on form here you need to have the right grade and results from college to get in to university.
4 - University - you don't have togo university after college but its the next step up. ages - again open to most. but around 19-23. we spent about 3-5 years at university. Also we have an 'open university that any one can join, and learn from home.
But if you want to carry on form here you need to have the right grade and results from univercity to get your masters etc

5 - Masters and above - this is the highest form of education we can enter without going out side into training and education as most people at this level do.

'additionally for British teenagers it fairly is greater durable because of the fact by skill of the time you're 14 you may desire to commence taking issues heavily for GCSE or you will no longer get to A ranges' the full of england do no longer take GCSEs or A ranges. The preparation device varies in the time of Britain. 'interior the united kingdom by skill of the time you're sixteen you may desire to go with your destiny and what you decide on for to proceed with!' sixteen year olds are not little toddlers. At sixteen, i replaced into residing on my own, working finished time.

The British educational system is similar to the American system, but has differences. I hope that was as cryptic as your question!

Are you asking for yourself (tertiary?) or mainstream primary or secondary school?

In my opinion, you have to live in the right area to go to a decent school. But some of the best universities are here. Although they cost a whole lot more if you are not a permanent resident!!
