My friends and I were throwing a small party last night and my friend happens to have a fog machine. We were going to plug it up but were scared it would set off the smoke alarm. We plugged it in for just a second and some smoke filtered out, we quickly unplugged it but the fog in the room didnt set off the alarm. Will alot of this fog set off the alarm?(my family recently moved into a new house and its up to date I belive it was built in 2004, the smoke alarms look kind of high tech)

It certainly could set off the smoke alarms. We used one at a school dance once, and ended up having to evacuate the building. The local fire marshall didn't like that at all. Use it outside or in a garage if you can.

Yeah the fog machine may set off the smoke alarm. It happened at a Halloween Party here at school in 2005.
