Hello allan.s. I'm sorry about your dad and your father in law.
I might be to late with this, it's a Robert Burns poem/song.(rabbie burns)

MY HEART IS IN THE HIGHLANDS...

Farewell to the highlands farewell to the north,
the birthplace of valor the country of worth,
Wherever i wander wherever i rove,
the hills of the highlands forever i love.

Farewell to the mountains high covered with snow,
farewell to the straths and green valleys below,
farewell to the forrests and wild hanging woods,
farewell to the torrents and wild pouring floods.

My heart's in the highlands, my heart is not here,
my hearts in the highlands a-chasing the deer,
a-chasing the wild deer and following the roe,
my hearts in the highlands wherever i go...

God Bless you and give you peace at this time...
from a scottish lass...

Firstly can I just give you my condolences, it is horrible to loose two people so close to you as it is but to loose them in the same week is just awful. I'm sorry not to be able to give you a specific poem as I didn't know him but think about any interests he had or as glad2bhir said any religion he had so as to get a personal poem for him.

If you have a religion, try to get a verse or an excerpts of one regarding death or how to console with it. My condolences.

I'm afraid I don't know one but I send you my condolences anyway. Perhaps one of our other friends on this site can come up with one. God Bless.
