my shih tzu it took about 2 months before he got used to telling us when he had to go. first you take your pup in the morning when u wake up and in the afternoon when you think he has to go at night just take him out before it gets darker. after a month or so he might get used to it and probably bark at the door to get your attention and just wait for u to take him good luck. after you notice your pup learned the habit you will be proud of him and yourself for not giving up

When about twelve weks start crate training. Till then and after take outside regular. couple minutes after getting up or eating and before being put back in it playpin. Time you put into this makes a difference.
