Hi. If this is just a thought, no problem but just in case there are a number of elasticated stockings that will make a difference. At 21 I know you feel this is a bit drastic but there are some that are not noticeable.
Consider if your parents had similar conditions and if so, you might have inherited the condition.
You might, in fact, be contributing to the problem yourself by restricting blood flow to parts of your legs by the way you sit, cross your legs when sitting or wearing higher heels than is good for you. Lastly, medical intervention is a consideration but it depends on how severe the veins are looking.
Good Luck with anything that this precis might help.

Varicose veins are caused by many things-being overweight, crossing ur legs while sitting, bad circulation, having babies, etc. Get checked out by doctor to make sure that you don't have any medical conditions that could be causing them. In the meantime, make it a habit when you are sitting that you put your feet up. Also invest in a really good pair of pantyhose that have good support . I have the same thing, can get very painful. I had injections in my veins to help collapse the veins, but they showed up in other areas. Good Luck

If you stand for long periods of time then try and sit. If you cannot sit down then walk on the spot which will pump the legs. Although blood returns from the legs to the heart due to blood 'pressure' it is helped a great deal by contraction of the lower leg muscles which literally squeeze the blood upwards.
It is also a good idea to exercise the veins. Veins are capable of contracting and dilating. If you alternately run hot and then cold water over your legs it encourages this vascular dilation and contraction and will hopefully prevent the veins from bulging and the valves from becoming ineffective.

After 10 years of struggling with all sorts of creams and pills to treat this embarrassing problem I was able to get rid of my varicose veins by using natural healing methods and alternative herbal home remedies.
Read Diane Thompson's "Varicose Veins Secrets" (also available in electronic format at: http://www.varicoseveinscure.org ). By following this guide book I was able to eradicate my varicose veins pretty fast. God bless!

Doctors have a treatment which I understand consists of basically fishing the vein out thru a small opening in the skin. Sounds painful, but if you are developing them at a young age, you might want to explore it.
I would also check web MD and see what they say, good luck with whatever you choose to do.

Do you stand a lot? First off, you need to get a special mat which is meant for professions where you are required to stand a lot. Also, you need to see a varicose vein specialist.

The first thing to do BEFORE any GP visit is to keep your feet up as much as you can. DO NOT cross your feet when sitting down. THEN go and see your GP, who can refer you to a Consultant, who can initially inject your veins with dextrose (sugar). This will help for a few years and then, depending on your life-style, you may or may not need your veins stripped. This is a more invasive procedure, but does help to elevate your pain (dragging feeling, "hot ants" running up/down your legs........) Best thing go and see your GP and ask him for his advice. Good Luck.

See a dermatologist for your options. They can be surgically removed, or removed with laser treatments.
Are they really varicose veins? Are they raised? Or are they just spider veins - -you can see them but can't feel them.
