I am a believer and I am here to share knowledge, this means to receive as well as to give. I don't want to convince anybody of anything: I just want to have a dialog and I expect to learn from others. I do not feel threaten at all by non believers and I appreciate their comments. I would NEVER NEVER want for R&S to be used eslusivelly for religious people. My dialog is open and therefore I don't feel intolerance even if I might not like some replies and I hope others will behave the same towards me. I never had anything deleted (and I hope it will be so in the future).

1. I am a Jew and believe in God.
2. Actually both. There are a lot of people who are curious about Judaism and there are a lot of people who are anti-Semites and want to tarnish Judaism.
3. As a teacher I am always expecting to learn something from others. After all, the world has a lot of people with a lot of different opinions and believes, might as well learn what we as humans stand for.
4. Not really, there are skeptics everywhere.
5. No, not really, for it would be very boring then. No one to debate. If we all have the same opinion about X, what would be left to talk about?
6. Yes, I have. I am guessing that they were Christians and some Muslims.
7. Yes, I have, but it was on rare occasions.
8. Yes, my questions and answers have been deleted. No, I believe that they were deleted because of biased opinions.

1 - nonbeliever

2 - share knowledge; argue points of theological rhetoric; try to make fundamentalist christians realize that evolution is not contrary to the existence of god; try to make intolerant atheists realize that evolution is not contrary to the existence of god; learn what other people have to say about religion and spirituality.

3 - yes, absolutely, especially from those who do not share my beliefs

4 - very comfortable

5 - absolutely not. this is a forum for discussions about religion and spirituality, not a place where the faithful can preach to the converted.

6 - yes, I have encountered many intolerant religious persons, often Christian, but that's probably because that is the most heavily represented religion here, but also some Islamic intolerance. I've also encountered a LOT of tolerant and open minded religious folks of all persuasions.

7 - yes, definitely. Intolerance amongst atheists on this forum seems to be more the rule than the exception. One of the reasons I try to participate here is to counteract some of this strident negativity on the part of my 'fellow' non-believers.

8 - I had one answer deleted in a completely different forum, after mentioning strippers or something. Although my answer was fairly silly, and I'm not upset about it being deleted, it did seem to be pretty mild to me. That's the only answer or question I've ever had, out of thousands of answers I've posted that was ever flagged as inappropriate.

4. Comfortable.
5. No . Any communication is better than no communication.
I just don't feed the trolls. Some unfortunately can't restrain themselves so they (the trolls) continue to thrive.

7. Of course... haven't we all ?

2. Yes
3. Yes
4. It doesn't bother me.
5. No. I like the diversity of thought.
6. Yes. Fundie Christians mainly, although what surprised me was some Wiccans attacking my religion as well.
7. No, not at all.
8. Yes and no. Fundies just don't like hypothetical questions. I've had two questions deleted, the violation notices were bogus "chatting and Personal communication" for a question about asking if you died and instead of seeing Jesus you saw Odin. And " not a question or answer" for "What kind of creator does ID prove?"

1. I am Jewish. I believe in G-d.
2. Both. More often than not I see it needs protecting from bigots but we get some really good questions from atheists and other nonreligious people.
3. Yes, very much so.
4. Nonbelievers? You mean atheists or people who don't believe in J*sus? I feel very comfortable with them.
5. No
6. Yes. Chr*stianity.
7. No. Just from non-religious people who make fun of religious people in general, but that doesn't really count.
8. Yes, and no. Someone asked what the name of J*sus was originally and I answered, giving the Hebrew name. He didn't like my answer and reported me for not using correct language.

You're welcome. Peace!
