Find yourself a reputable dog trainer, and take him for training. This behaviour will not correct itself left unchecked.

Sound as if he's outside most the time?? Well if that is the case he will always go nuts when he gets the chance to come in! Living outside keeps an animal more in-touch with their wild instincts compared to a dog that lives inside and only goes out for bathroom! Its Hard to teach an old dog new tricks,, At 5 years old it's the owners fault that the dog still does this! Sorry, but a dog takes time , esp inside the first year , to train them ! I'm not saying he can't be trained now, but you made your job about 5 times harder! Taking your dog to the vet does not teach him obedience,, ?? Confused ??

Enrol him at dog classes.

They not only get trained on how to be 'good citizen dogs' but it is also a good social evening out for your dog so he can meet and play with other dogs.

Are you meaning in the sense of breaking him to not pee in the house or behaving himself in the house?

For behavior, when he does something you don't like, tell him no and let him know it's not okay, but don't hit him. You can tap his nose to let him know. Squirt bottles have worked for me, too. If he's jumping on you- do NOT push him off. This encourages dogs to jump back on you-they think this is a game. "Hey, she pushes me off, I get back up!" Just turn to your side so that they are off of you and you aren't pushing them. If you are ignoring them, they won't think it's as fun.

Learning how to train your dog will improve your life and hers, enhance the bond between you, and ensure her safety and it can be a lot of fun. Dogs are usually eager to learn, and the key to success is good communication. Your dog needs to understand how you’d like her to behave and why it’s in her best interest to comply with your wishes. recognise the signs of when he needs to go to the toilet, for example my one dog starts sniffing round the floor looking for a good spot! luckily the other one stands at the door and moans until let out, that makes it easy. then use the rule, praise the good ignore the bad. tale your pet outside and when they go to the toilet praise them, any accidents ignore and just take them to where they are meant to go to the toilet.
