Just take the standard credit based on how many exemptions you claim. If you try to do it the long way it will take you many hours to calculate and I can assure you it won't be that much. I've done a couple of returns for midsize corporations this year that calculated out the long way (corporations have to do this in order to get a credit, there is no standard amount for them) and they only got back a couple hundred dollars. This was based on their average phone bill amount being about $350. I doubt any individual had a phone bill that was nearly that high.
