I know I am not allergic to peanuts (and my dog is not either). Any suggestions as to what this might be? It is Peter Pan peanut butter and I know it's not on fire.

Have you bumped your head or been in an accident recently? Minor damage caused be small vessels ruptures have been know to effect taste and smell and to even mix them up so the you eat toast but get smell of something else like flowers or wet fur, or maybe you take a big sniff of a rose and get the taste of cheese or soap in your mouth......

good luck

you could be DEVELOPING an allergy to peanuts. Many times, the body will send you subtle unpleasant signs to avoid certain foods. I was forced to listen to mine when I suddenly developed a severe allergy to them-ended up in the ER. My "sign" was just a bad taste in my mouth after eating it. You could try switching to cashew or almond butter Or, if you are eating Peter Pan, its full of preservatives and chemicals. Perhaps you are allergic to another ingredient

you are probably smelling that because the peanuts are roasted.
