You do not deduct federal taxes paid for 2005 on the 2006 federal return. It is merely the settlement of your prior year's liability. What you can do is deduct state taxes paid on Schedule A, if it is beneficial to itemize.

Federal income taxes, and self-employment taxes, are NOT deductible on your federal return, no matter whether they're for the current year or for past years.

If you're talking about state or local taxes, then it's line 23 of schedule C.
