If an artist messed up on a tattoo coloring, can it be redone? My tattoo has places where you can see it isn't colored, and places that are brighter than others.

Most artists I know would do a touch up at no charge. Generally, even if it was through faulty after care, etc. I would not automatically assume the artist "messed up." There are other reasons that color does not take consistently.

I am wondering how old the tattoo is? If you are still in the healing stages it may just need time to see what you end up with.

Go easy on the artist. I wouldn't say (S)he messed up. Most likely the ink didn't 'take' on a certain part of your skin.

I have had quite heavy blackwork done where it looked alright in the studio. But then looking at it a week after it appeared to have small spots.

This occasionally happens. Nothing to do with the artist it most cases and is easily rectified with a touch up.

of course you can, however is that tat old? It may be that your skin doesn't hold color, I had a friend whose husband had his redone like 3 times and it just wouldn't hold, so that may be your problem, but i would try again and see if it works, but try a new artist, someone that you have seen other work they have done. Better to see the actual work than just a pic.

yes, it is possible for you to have it touched up. but if the original artist messed it up that badly i wouldn't go back to them. find a talented artist that can give you a tattoo worth having.
