Our neighbor's daughter threw a huge party (over 200 people), when they were out of town. The parents knew there would be alchohol present. Wouldn't they get a citation of some sort because they were aware that minors would be drinking? The kids were also charging people to come into the party. Does the law apply differently in different states? We live in California.

Another neighbor reported it and yes, the kids went scattering when the cops showed. It was very amusing. I was just wondering what is going to happen to the homeowners, since they knew about it.

I would think there would be a violation of the FIRE code in the least.....how big is the house??? and the age of the child is not right so that would be contributing to the delinquency of a minor......Noise violation.....all the way around it sounds like a bad idea

Yes, if it can be proven that the parents knowingly contributed to the deliquency of a minor. Proof is the key word however. The daughter and whoever was at the party are ultimately responsible. Either way, it's probably a moot point, unless the party was broken up by the police. Charging after the fact is fairly rare.

I live in the uk the drinking age is 18, many of us start to get drunk at 16. The police would'nt have a go at us. They would send us home if we were on the streets but other than that the party would continue.
In the rest of europe many contries have a drinking age of 16.

Parents are held responsible for their children when they are under 18. It would be contributing to the deliquency of minors since they knew there would be alcohol and did not try to stop it.

yes they would have gotten charged had somene called the police at the time now its too late because you cant prove it. contributing to a minor is and can be pretty serious just think if one of the kids would have gotten alcohol poisioning.
