Aah, poor thickchix! I hate throwing up. It's the WORST. I haven't thrown up from the flu in like 10 years... at least...

Go on the BRAT diet... bananas, rice, and toast. Oh wait... that's if you have the runs. I think it would work with the flu too though - if it sounds good to you. None of that minute rice crap either... get the real stuff. You just boil it, put the lid on it and don't touch it for 20 minutes and you get perfect rice.

Other than that stick to the liquids... water, water, water, maybe some 7up or Sprite, broth... there is something in food coloring that upsets your stomach when you're sick so steer clear... or something like that - I know you want to avoid food dyes for some reason.

Ginger ale and 7up help settle your stomach, also apple sauce, bananas, anything with cinnamon, anise, or fennel. Basically stay away from acidic fruits/vegetables and stick with ones that have soft creamy flesh. Squash and avocado may be good too.
If you can tolerate rice or barley (I don't think either of those have gluten), you can make those with some rich broth. Or a homemade chicken soup, minus the noodles and anything you can't have. Unless you can do rice or spelt noodles.
Also, tums helps me when my stomach is feeling upset.

dont worry so much about the food. make sure the fluids are staying down. Gatorade makes a drink with electolites. Don't let yourself get dehydrarted. this will keep you throwing up my 4 year old did that and had go to the hospital and hooked up to an iv.

I am in recovery from the flu also and my nurse told me to take in food or drinks that are clear on the first day, cloudy on the second day and soft solids on the third and if you can handle that you are on your way home to getting better. Donot drink or eat anything too cold.
