If your parents do not want a cat in their home, bringing one in will create problems and tension.
It is not fair for an innocent little animal to be made the focus of a family dispute and likely the pet will end up in a shelter.
Do not get a cat until you have your own apartment and have a happy and welcoming space for it to live in.

if your parents dont like cats sit down with them and tell them about the good things of having a cat like it could eat the bugs around the house and stuff. let them see that you are responsible to take care of the cat yourself. if your parents do say yes im sure after they get one they will love it!

Get a chicken...everyone loves chicken!!!But seriously,it would really depend on your age.Are you able to move out of the parents house..can you afford a pet???? Vet fee's are not cheap. An exam and a few vaccines could cost a couple Hundred dollars.Guess you need to weigh the need for a pet verses the funds to maintain the health of the pet. :-)

Best bet is to not get one, if you do they will have an issue. Sit down SHOW THEM your responsible by speaking responsibly, do research on cats, on breeds of them, show them you can handle the responsibility, maybe take suggestions.... Then if they agree adopt a cute bundle of fluff from your local shelter
