my next vacation will be in Valencia, Southern Spain for the awesome Las Fallas Fire Festival from 15th March until 20th March (La Crema, when they burn 500 statues called Ninots all over the city, is on the night of the 19th March)...
music every night, all night street parties, processions with 200,000 people in traditional dress with marching bands taking flowers to the Virgin, fireworks every night...plus the fabulous Mesclata every day in the Plaza Ayaumiento
it's going to be fantastic!
Then it's Semana Santa in Granada (Southern Spain) in April, San Fermin (The Running Of The Bulls) in Pamplona from 7th thru 15th July, St James Day in Santiago De Compostela on 24th to 25th July, the Rhine in Flames in August in Germany, the world-famous annual Tomato Fight (La Tomatina) in Bunol in August, then maybe an overland trip backpacking from Morroco to Tunisia through Lybia and Algeria in September for 5 weeks...
(Basically I love fireworks :)
Hope that gives you some ideas!
Philip

We have been undecided between Sri Lanka and Mexico.
Mexico only won because of the weather and the snorkelling. Sri Lanka is still a must as we want to visit places that desperately need tourism. So at the end of May we will be spending two weeks in Mexico. I know it'll be fantastic as my sister has visited the same hotel and rated it highly (Grand Occidental). I intend to snorkel, swim, snorkel, eat, snorkel and sleep! But before this we have Easter Weekend in Rome - gonna be fun! And four days in Iceland at the end of April - which should be a great experience.

Well,
In 2 weeks time I will be travelling to Germany to visit the old concentration camp Bergen-Belsen as my late grandfather was part of the liberating force in 1945.
In 4 weeks time I am travelling to Plovdiv, Bulgaria for Easter to spend it with my wifes family.
If I could travel to 2 places for my next vacations, I would not choose any different destinations.

I have now realised that I absolutely hate flying to the point of phobic so.... it is now going to have to be either by boat/ship, car, rail, or foot. I really want to go to Italy so that can be done without the need to freak myself out with the idea of getting on one of those horrible flying things! I am still amazed how the things get up & stay up! (No! not that!) By the way, anyone know of a good hypnotherapist? I reckon that might go some way to ease my travel hell. Any help gratefully received

Going to Disneyland Paris with the 5 kids (age 10 to 3). it's going to be stressful - trying to keep an eye on all of them, and magical when the little ones see the princesses.
