In the Movie "Pearl Harbor", there is a scene where you can see a newspaper called "The Honolulu Advertiser" reporting "Japan and U.S. Peace Talks Hopeful".
Is there and truth behind this claim?
Were peace talks between the two countries going on?
if so, where can I find info. on these peace talks??

A lot of what was portrayed in that movie, although it was a really good movie, wasn't true.

There are a lot of good books on Pearl Harbor, you can also wikipedia.com it, or just do a google search. It would mention any peace talks in the article. I think at the point that they attacked the U.S., talks had ceased.
You can also google it-there are a lot of good articles on the net as well as History and Military channels run documentaries on it every few weeks.

yes as you know we have ambassadors and other officials in other countries as do they here. Japan was gonna talk with us but then they got a message from Japan saying leave the country immediately and they did, we didnt pick up the clue for some reason, just like there was a submarine that entered the harbor hours before the attack and we blew it up, yet again we didn't think about it.
