A custom is something we do out of habit as individuals. A tradition is something that is handed down from generation to generation. Having turkey on thanksgiving is a custom. Celebrating our heritage is a tradition.

Customs are behavior. Tradition also includes stories, mythology etc. So tradition includes customs, but is a bit broader.

due to my intinct,tradition is a culture that base on the way pple are in due to their belief while custom is a service rendered at a particular spot..might in a society or in a community.and to be frank customs is entirely different thing which mean government dept.that collect tax or check ur things before one is allowed to enter a country...custom not customs!..there is ur answer and i'll be waiting to hear from u sooner..thnx..

Custom tends to be short and temporary where as tradition tends to be of long standing.
