Unless we used nuclear weapons we wouldn't be able to win a war. Our military is small. What army we have is spread out very thin. Our youth are either fat video thumbs or apathetic drug users, so a draft would be futile.
We can only keep invading and killing and threatening for so long....

Most Americans are fat. And really your wording sounds like a lawyer, "We're fighting in Iraq, not the Iraq people." Really, is that why over half a million of them are dead? And since when did patriots become insurgents?

Oh poor Shelley ! You must believe that you are the first to dream up this scenario!
This country spends a lot of time and money cultivating friends who think, support, and otherwise back our action. We know who our friends are, and we know who we must support, as well. We also know who is the enemy and what we could expect, if these country's exercised a first strike policy. We already know what our response would be, and to what extent we must go to protect our people and to destroy our enemy.
We have no illusions of who are our enemy or how long the list.
It's a very non emotional thing to write up a list of potential enemy. It would probably shock the world to know what country's are on the short list, but for defense and retaliatory purposes, it's absolutely necessary.

Who's army is small? Not the USA. As for the fat,drugged out youth, we have some yes. They are in no way a majority which makes me wonder how you can generalize so easily unless you aren't from the US. We are fighting a war because we were attacked on 9/11. The fight is the USA against the Radical Islamic Hoard of murderers we are fighting them now in Iraq, they are the INSURGENTS. We are not fighting the people of Iraq. We are fighting in Iraq. There is a difference.

You make it sound as though the US is aganist the entire world. Perhaps the rest of the worled really feels that way these days, but if so, then they've chosen a screwed up ally in the jihadists! You really don't want to have the entire world declare war on us...the largest nuclear power on the planet being pinned against a wall in this way would probably lead to the end of life on our planet alltogether....except for a certain segment of North America.
ps---besides...who cares when you have so-called "allies" that are too yellow to admit they're REALLY you're enemy??

And there is another issue here - name another nation that was willing to stand up against Saddam.
And I really suggest that you educate yourself about who is killing the civilians in Iraq. The enemy is preferentially targeting civilians. Do you want the people who car-bomb schools to rule Iraq?

I always wondered why some other country just doesn;t take America over...until I reminded myself they'd be stuck with generally 300 million losers they'd have to take care of.
