A recent news article reports that Mars is also experiencing global warming, so doesn't it make sense that the Sun is causing both Earth and Mars to warm? You have to admit if this is true, that there are factors other than mankind involved.

What do you mean the sun doesn't cause global warming? Where do you think we get sunshine and heat from? That's ridiculous.

well, first off, the only way that the earth's atmosphere can get heat is from the sun, so that heats the globe. And second off global warming has nothing to do with science it is all politics; created by leftist to cause alarm and then blame it all on the US, but then fly their personal jets to their five houses. But the study on mars confirms that CO2 in the atmosphere doesn't contribute to global warming. The reason why mars atmosphere isn't getting to high temperatures is because its CO2 rich enviroment cannot hold the heat.

Well, let's try a little Einstein-like thought experiment:
Mars is, on average, 45,000,000 miles further from the sun than we are. It is smaller and has a thin atmosphere compared to Earth.
Mars is experiencing global warming, caused by increases in the sun's output.
Now, would a larger abosrbing surface with a thicker atmosphere that is 45,000,000 miles CLOSER to the heat source absorb more heat?
Try this - Build a big campfire. Stand 9 feet from it. Feel the heat. Now, walk 13 feet away from the fire and turn sideways to it. Do you feel the same, warmer, or cooler than when you were 9 feet from the heat source and broadside to it?
DUH.
So...Can we conclude from this that variations in the sun, the major driving force of our climate, could be causing more noticable global warming on Earth than it is on Mars? You betcha, eh?
Global warming is all about the money.

PS: Enjoy the attached link about global cooling in the 70's and how SOMEONE SHOULD DO SOMETHING! - They seriously suggested melting the polar ice caps. Kinda like the nutty stuff they're proposing now. They don't have a working climate model, they don't have consistant data, and have NO idea what they're doing, but by GOD they want you to pay them to do it.

Causing? Most likely not, though it is certainly related to earth's climate.
But why would someone believe one scientific revelation (warming on Mars) but reject another one (earth warming related to humans)? What expertise would lead to that choice?
No one is saying "it's all man's fault" - the climate is vastly complicated. What they've said is that man is a prime cause of warming here. In any event, man-made causes are the only ones we can do much about.
If you're happy with the potential global impact of major climate change, then sure, sit back and relax.

Sorry but the sun adds just 0,15 W/m2 more than it is normally the case...
On an average of 1366W/m2 we receive from the SUN, that´s not a lot.
If you read the second page of the article which you all post about the Mars warming, it is only the warming at the pole because... their geographic pole is moving !!! Yes the axis of rotation of Mars is a little bit changing.

Could global warming be caused by something other than Humans? You bet it could.

YES BUT...
The "natural" solar contribution is of +0,12W/m2
The man-made increase in CO2 and other greenhouse gases accounts for: 1.6W/m2.... so over ten times more...
THEREFORE, the CONTRIBUTION FROM THE SUN IS EXTREMELY MINOR.
And while the solar cycle is going to change is some years, the man made accumulated greenhouse gases will stay between 12 years for methane to...more than 10 000 years for fluoride gases.

I want to add that without greenhouse effect the temperature of the earth would be 300K... 15°K less... so this effect IS important but has to be kept in a certain range.

the sun is not causing any global warming. first you have to understand that the atmosphere of the earth is different from the atmosphere of mars.
