Depends on the breed & it also depends on the Jeans!
What looks right for showing a cavalier king charles wont fit for showing a chessie.
You need comfy shoes.
Smart jeans with nice trainers should be fine but tatty, however fashionable, jeans and scruffy trainers won't help the image you & the dog present.
I will be wearing jeans but they are designer charcoal grey ones and I'll wear them over black ankle boots. A toning top & a copper coloured gilet (which is a duller shade than my red & white dog) will complete the oufit.
Some people do go over the top, sometimes it works, sometimes they look wrong & you don't notice their dog.

Yes i would say jeans are a no no.
I haven't seen any of the people showing their dogs wearing jeans, even at little local shows.
I suggest smart trousers and a simple top, they often wear jackets as well, it is quite a smart event.
Flat shoes is a must (but unfortunately not trainers) pumps which are really fashionable at the moment are probably the best thing to wear, especially if you intend to do any shopping while your there.
Hope you do well at crufts and sort out what your going to wear ok, hope i was a help.

Depends on whether you are handling the dog in the arena. If you are, you need to look the part, as you must be aware the handler should not let the dog down!!
Even so, wear something warm and very comfortable shoes. The NEC consists of various halls and the show is spread out over quite a large area, not the warmest of places. I don't doubt you will have a good day but be prepared for a very long one, even after you have competed you are not permitted to leave. Lots of people wear jeans and trainers, remember it's a fashion show for the dogs not the owners.
Best of luck with your entry, let us know how you do.

Im guessing this is your 1st time showing at Crufts.
Something smart, after all you will have taken time to get the best from your dog.
Smart but comfortable, sorry to say if you do go in jeans you will really feel out of place.
What breed are you showing?
If your showing a dark coloured dog please dont wear dark trousers, wear something light so the judge can see your dogs topline etc.
If its a light coloured dog then darker trousers would be better.
Have a wonderful day and above all remember YOUR bringing home the best dog.

it does depend on what colour your dog is! and whether you will be walking sedately around the ring or going at a fair clip! to be quite honest with you the NEC is very cold in the morning but does warm up once you start walking round all those lovely stalls! flat shoes/pumps/smart trainers would be ideal footwear. i wore a pale blue, shimmery trouser suit when i showed my lancashire heeler in 2000 (gosh such a long time ago!) heelers are black and tan and the lighter colour made him stand out when we were in the ring-and it must have worked as he won a 1st and 2nd under zena thorn-andrews! but i would definately invest in a good quality, and fitting suit, after all you are going to the greatest dog show on earth! your dog looks its best so why shouldnt you? i like nothing better than seeing a well turned out dog and handler working in harmony round the breed rings. i only hope that my next show prospect puppy (im hoping to get a cocker spaniel-black and tan!) will work with me the same as my nearly thirteen year old heeler does when we go to the companion dog shows-i always hear comments such as 'look at that little dog-it doesnt need a lead-it knows what its doing!' or 'that dog and its owner are working together nicely'

Come now, we know you don't show in your jeans. Showing is a colegent style dressy type of thing and you should make sure you have pockets! Also that your outfit contrasts your dog so his outline shows up well.
Get something dressier if your doing Cufts. Make sure your comfortable shoes go well with it too, and that you can trot.

definitely flat shoes of some sorts, its a very long day,and I agree with first sensible answer a nice trouser suit, but colour must compliment your dog,if its a black dog,do not wear black ,as this detracts from the dog,
oh yes and most of all
HAVE FUN AND GOOD LUCK

Black or grey trouser suit with low heeled pumps or stylish flats would be your best bet, even though you are not showing you are the owner and you want to look the part! Best of luck to you and your pup!
