Have you ever been a bridesmaid where the bride is really controlling when it comes to what you're gonna wear to the wedding, how you're to do your nails, hair, etc.? Or are you currently in that situation? I'm currently a bridesmaid and the bride is behaving like an extremely difficult and control freak. It's as if she's bridezilla controlling her little marionette dolls (dolls with strings attached that a puppeteer controls). Is it too much for me to ask to be able to do my own nails, hair and shoes? I think not!

when you agree to be a bridesmaid, those are the things that can happen....so just put up with it unless you all want to sit her down and tell her to lighten up a little...good luck

Sorry, but I think it is too much for you to ask. You are the bridesmaid and when you agree to be in the wedding you also agree to go by the bride's rules. Remember, it's HER wedding, not yours. If she wants all the bridesmaids to wear purple nail polish and green shoes, then that's what you'll wear. Traditionally, the bridesmaids are all supposed to look similar, and that's what it sounds like this bride wants, which seems perfectly acceptable to me. If you do your own hair and nails, you will look different than the other girls. If you're not willing to do what the bride wants, then I suggest you tell you you're not comfortable with her choices, and then if she's not willing to go along with your ideas (remember...HER wedding), then tell her NICELY that you are sorry, but you will not be able to be a part of her wedding party.

Yes, it's too much to ask. It's her wedding, and sorry but you're both friend and accessory when you agree to be a bridesmaid. Ride it out, go with the flow, and realize your friend will be normal again after the wedding. There's a lot of hype around weddings, particularly with all the wedding magazines, and some women get into this sort of half-crazed "all must be exactly right" mindset.

Just bear in mind that how your hair, nails, and shoes look at her wedding is far more important to her than it is to you. Be a true friend and give her the room to be silly and obsessive over this. It's her wedding, and if all goes well it only happens once.

As a bride i would have to say that the reason she is being so specific is because this is HER day and she wants everything perfect....Just because she is being very specific on the way she wants your hair, nails, etc done, does not make her a bridezilla...it makes her a perfectionist maybe but not a bridezilla. She wants all of her bridesmaids to look the same which most brides do...it will look better in pictures and she will want to remember it as a perfect day!
