I have real problems breathing through my nose, even when i'm sat down, but really badly when i'm walking, so i walk around everywhere looking like i'm in a state of shock- mouth open (and you should see me when i'm running!) someone pointed out in my last question breathing through your mouth all the time leads to a build up of saliva which then paints my lips with white goo which is very attractive. Does anyone else have problems breathing through their noses? Hope I don't sound too dense. Thanks in advance guys :)

Sounds like you have polyps on your sinuses.

Try a nasal spray to see if it clears as a temporary measure.

If it still persists, go to your doctors for a check up.

Good luck.....

Hi, Sarah. When you say "problems breathing through my nose", do you mean that your nose is stopped up? Or maybe you can't seem to get enough air that way? If your nose is stopped up or seems to obstruct air flow, you should probably see an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist. You may have an issue in your sinuses that can be corrected and will allow you to breath better through your nose. Otherwise, if it is not obstructed, then is there a possible respiratory issue, such as asthma that makes you feel like you need more air? I think it is important to address this problem with your doctor to find out why you are having problems breathing through your nose. Good luck.

Sarah,

I know exactly what you are talking about, I have the same problem, although its intensity swings. Sometimes its better and sometimes worse.

When doing sports and when sleeping, I found that "Breathe-Right" nasal strips help me a lot.

It's like a piece of tape you put on your nose and it makes you breathe better. You get it at the chemist or the drugstore.
