How on earth can christians look down their noses at others?
They are all a bunch of simple, deluded individuals who do not understand the truth shown to us by science. It is us who should look down our noses at them!
I would suggest that they all sit down and read Richard Dawkins' excellent book The God Delusion in order to educate their minds. However, I think it would probably be a bit to complicated for them!

Absolutely not. Christians that look down their noses at others need to go back to the Bible and study the teachings of Jesus and the early church fathers. We have all sinned. True Christians are just forgiven. The simple fact is that Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to be redeemed and not face eternal punishment. I don't keep saying this to be smug or superior. I say this because I hate the thought of anyone facing such turmoil. Don't be fooled...there is a Heaven and there definitely is a hell.

Christians are suppose to love everyone even their enemies and treat each other as they expect others to treat them.
Christian behaving bad, may look down, but remember Christians are also people, the imperfect trying to be perfect..
Heaven is where God is and hell is where God is not. Earth is where we are. Christians hope to have eternal life with God, and frankly, they should not be affected by your actions, hell or otherwise. Christians maybe happy, but if they are smug, they are not living the Christian life.
Answer: Christian are followers of Christ Jesus and are expected to treat others as they would have others treat them. Having others smugly turn down their noses at them, does not sound appealing. Wouldn't you agree?

I think if somebody looks down on somebody else it has to do with the individual themselves not their religion, all religions should teach to love and respect one another no matter what religion they are, I am a christian and I don't look down on anybody - as for the going to hell and burn thing I don't believe in that anyway, I think we make our own heaven or hell everyday in the way we live our lives.

For myself as a christian that is not true I don't look down at other groups or religions just because we don't share beliefs. I believe that everyone should be respected and not criticized or condemned by christians because of there diffrent beliefs. I am good friends with many people of diffrent relgions 2 friends are muslim On from Afganistan one from Gana Africa, One is athiest, One is from a very extreme group of christians who do look down there noses and try to change people of other religions but I don't share his beliefs I think that type of christianity is wrong. As a christian we are called by Jesus Gods son to love and respect all people of the world no matter race, diffrent beliefs or origins we do not have to put other religions down to make us as christians feel better about ourselves like we are the superiour christian because God loves everyone and every person in this world very much our job is to spread the love not our beliefs.

I can only go on personal experience here, but I don't think Christians look down on other people. I'm a christian and most of my closest friends are atheists. But I think that some people look at Christians and see them doing their best to do what's right and follow their faith and I think they then look at themselves and make a comparison. You know? Just because non religious people don't read the bible every day and say their prayers does not make them less valuable.
We are all precious and of high worth. No matter who we are.

There will be always people who look down their noses at certain people. And, some people enjoy the misery of others. As a Christian, I try to treat people fairly. I take no enjoyment in others' misfortunes.
Treating people wrongly goes against the true message preached in the Bible. It doesn't matter if you believe or not, but treating people bad is not right.

This is a silly question. Anyone knows that there are good and bad in every religion, culture and society.
Anyone who considers themselves to be a true christian....
would not `look down` on others - they might feel sympathy for them, but that is all. In any case, Christians are no more likely to be `right` than anyone.

No, of course not. The system of beliefs of heaven and hell can be defined in any religious system of ethics, but if you consult common sense, the meaning of heaven is good and the meaning of hell is bad. Regardless of said afterlife, a person's emotional and psychologyical frame of mind is generally governed by his actions and thoughts, so in my book heaven and hell are states of mind.
As for the after life, this is a spiritual question that you should ask yourself and God free of any type of religious connotation to it. In my personal experience, honesty is always a better policy than indoctrination.

No it makes us sad. If it made us smug and happy, why do u think we are always trying to get other people to believe in God.
Why whould we take all the abuse and bad words from others and STILL keep going on if we didnt care at all? We DO care, we ant every one to be happy and go to heaven, that is why we tell others about God.
