how to preview video files in emule?

You right click the file, and click Preview. It will only play if you have a substantial percent of it downloaded, meaning you probably won't be able to play it when you have 5% of it, but it probably will play if you have 50%. There a progress map there also that shows you which parts of the file are complete. When you start the download, the bar is blue but then starts gaining black patches. Those patches are what you have completed. If those patches are at the front, then you can play it for a while.
