You would have to know the specific gravity of the product from the MSDS. Assuming it is approximately 0.75, then the answer would be:

0.75 x 8 lb/gallon = 6 lb/gallon

Although diesel fuel will float on water, the two fluids are very close in density. And "A Pint's a Pound, the world round". Without looking up the specific gravity of diesel, I will bet that a gallon will weigh a lot closer to 8 lbs than 6 lbs.
