When my one cat had kittens, my other cat stepped in many times as a "nurse maid". She would look over the kittens, clean them, etc when the mom was sleeping or needed to take a break.

If the cats already knew each other, consider it nothing more than a mom helping out a mom. Might want to ensure nutrition is there if one is weak.

Its okay my cats did the same thing and it was a godsend because it seems one of the mothers was not be able to nurse her babies she had 4 and only one survived and that one survived because the other mother took over. Sometimes I think cats get confused or their natural instincts don't kick in because I've had cats that acted like they didn't know what to do and the kittens died. So just consider it a blessing and let nature do its thing.

That's so sweet! I remember about 12 years ago the same happened to me. You can help the moms feeding the kittens every 3 hours with milk and small bottles, go to your nearest pet shop and they have that kind of milk for baby kittens, easy to digest.

this is normal. my aunts cats share kittens all the time. one mother will take the others kittens if they are close in age.

You have nothing else to do but to prepare the milk bottle.
