Why in your minds must science disprove God rather than prove God?

I asked a question not too long ago about if scientist figured out how to reproduce scientifcly some of the miracles the Bible says Jesus did;walking on water for example, would that prove the miracles jesus did were real.

Well, the majority answer seem to be that it would disprove God,rather than prove, cuase then it wouldnt be a miracle.

1.As I had said in that question,if the people of the current society didnt know how to do the things Jesus did,the way He did them;then why in your minds is it not a miracle.

2.Does it not occur to you that to accomplish miracles&blessings,God does use natural science to accomplish theese things? That maybe your thinking is false in the idea that God does everything supernaturally&doesnt use science? And maybe ya'll dont realize many impossible type things are possible in the natural world? All we see&know is the tip of the iceberg.....

but that there' much much more beneath the surface of what we imidiaty percieve.God knows about all the other stuff&being the creator,He can manipulate the science of the creation to accomplish things we previously thought impossible.

Actually the answer is very simple.

Science can only prove what it can explain. Anything that is miraculous, is outside the parameters of natural laws. If Jesus Christ walked on water, this is a violation of natural laws. Science cannot prove how this was done, so scientist need to show that it was an illusion, or a trick.

The problem boils down to the fact that some scientists refuse to acknowledge that there are things in this world that cannot be explained by science. There ar subjects that are not susceptible to scientific observation, let alone explanation.

What happens to us when we die? Science cannot answer this. The creation of the universe, and the origin of life are similar topics. When scientists attempt to explain these phenomena, the explanations sound foolish, for example: the Big Bang, and Evolution.

Most of the greatest scientists in history were Christians. Unfortunately, in this day and age, arrogance has replaced the search for truth. Pride has made many of them blind to the truth.

Science does not try to disprove God.

Science does try to explain things, and is not allowed to stop with an answer that says "God does it."

Sure, if you're perception of God is "The one who created life as it is in our world today, and did it in six days," then it might seem that Scientists are trying to disprove Him.

But most people don't have that view. Most people view God as a protector, a forgiver of sins, a source of goodness, a source of Justice. Whether we were created in six days or six billion years doesn't really affect most people's belief in God.

The miracles of Jesus don't need to be scientifically explained. They are miracles not because the are impossible, but because they change the hearts of the people who know of them. If Jesus didn't really feed the multitude with a couple of loaves and fishes, then I can still believe in the sermon on the mount, and that only he who is without sin should cast the stone.

Trying to prove the miracles gets us away from those lessons.

Science does not have to prove or disprove anything. Science makes theories based on observation. There's just nothing to indicate any gods exist, so it is not an issue.

1. The stuff that is written about Jesus was written decades after he died, if he existed at all. There's nothing to indicate that any of it was true.

2. There's nothing to indicate that any "miracles" are done by any gods. And just because everything is possible doesn't make them true or even probable.

Maurice, if technology is used to "create a miracle" than it is not supernatural.

Like I asked you last time, does that mean if an alien came here with advanced technology and used to to cure people and put on elaborate shows of power that would would worship it as God?

Science is based on evidence. You cannot formulate a theory unless you have evidence. Therefore you cannot start off with an assumption and try to prove it. That's not how the scientific method works. You need to pay more attention in school.

Science is not out to disprove God. For many, understanding the universe and the rules and precepts that they believe God set out to govern the universe brings them closer to an understanding of the divine.

The 'miracles' of the bible don't seem all that miraculous to me when compared with the actual miracles that occur everyday all around us.

Some dude turning water into wine seems pretty much a parlour trick when compared to the actual miracle of grape plants forming their entire structure from sunlight and air, reproducing new plants through an incredible system of molecular heredity, sugars in the fruits ripening to entice animals to help spread grape seeds, and those fruits fermenting with the help of anaerobic bacteria to form a wondrous fluid from squished plants and bacteria poop that happens to contain a chemical that intensifies emotion in humans who drink it.

That's a heck of lot more miraculous to me.

And does whether or not Jesus actually walked on water or turned water to wine actually have any relevance to his _message_? Is 'love thy neighbour' only a good idea if it comes from a guy who's Dad was God? I think it's a pretty good philosophy regardless of the divinity of the person who came up with it. Even if Jesus didn't ever exist, it would still be a good philosophy.

Science is merely a set of tools to use to understand the universe. What you do with that understanding is up to you.

Well when you think of miracle you think supernatural. If it's natural, it's not a miracle. Many people suspect Jesus was just a magician like the ones we have today who do all that stuff with cards and everything. They just know tricks that deceive the eye. They're not miracle workers or sent by God. So if you are saying that Jesus was just a magician who deceived people's eyes, then he was no miracle worker at all. He was just another guy who wanted fame.

Miracle - an effect or extraordinary event in the physical world that surpasses all known human or natural powers and is ascribed to a supernatural cause.

If science is able to make someone walk on water, it becomes explainable, and is no longer a miracle.

Science isn't used to prove or disprove God because the supernatural by definition is outwith the scope of science- it reveals facts based on available evidence. God is a non issue.

Why in your mind would science prove God? It'd like saying science can prove Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy or the Easter Bunny. That's not what science is used for.

there is no such element as entire depravity. That become invented via John Calvin. regardless of unique sin, there is adequate grace left contained in the soul of people to make certain to do solid, and favor to believe in God. If we are completely wicked, lets no longer try this. Matrimony become instituted earlier the autumn, and it has continually been holy, and did not go throughout the outcome of the autumn, making it a unique sacrament, and disproving Calvins invention. there is also the organic regulation it truly is written on each persons heart. people instinctivly understand that express issues are incorrect and certain issues are solid. Killing is faulty no count number what faith (or no faith) you retain on with. people opt for to harden their sense of accurate and incorrect to commit evil acts. because evil exists does no longer advise that God willed it.
