winking's all good, it's just a harmless bit of flirting, if i think the person's hot who's doing the winking though, i'd usually stick my tongue out in return.

Winking has several meanings - it`s not always a romantic overture.... it can imply complicity in something....like `we know, don`t we`?

But it can feel unsettling: it can even be a mild form of abuse, if the `winked at` didn`t ask for, welcome, want or like it.
