A friend of ours had cancer and was given 3 months to live because it was so advanced. He went to the Bahamas and received unorthodox Cancer treatments that totally arrested it , He was doing really good and there was no Cancer there. When his 3 months went by he suddenly died of a massive heart attack in his sleep. Is this just saying you cannot cheat death?

We can never cheat death. Death will have its way irregardless of what we do. I am sorry for your friend. I just lost one this week who I will dearly miss. The trick is to be ready for the afterlife.

My first thought was to be thankful GOD gave man the means to fight cancers and diseases, and as you stated your friend beat the odds and won. The fact that no human can hold death at bay for long is always present with us every moment. Could the doctors miss his heart condition due to focus on cancer? Could be it was his time? Both are possible. The coincidence is striking, to be sure, I can not comment on why people are taken and other aren't (I haven't a clue).

Could be that the idea was put in his head, and he believed it. That's why sometimes docs don't give an estimated time of departure.
Could be that the treatment itself caused the heart damage.
When you say 'you can't cheat death' sounds like you've been watching too many movies. When it's your time to go, you go, period. Just cause one person said you had 3 months, does not mean they're always right. When God says it's your time, well, that's the WORD that counts. You see what I mean?

Its not really cheating. No cheat of death too. its just that time comes and it will comes. The cancer or heart attack is just a excuses for it only. Thats what i believe in it.

So the word of doctors is authoritative? I've known people who the doctors said had only weeks to live go on to lead a full and happy productive live far beyond weeks.
Total coincidence, unless you want to say the doctors have the eye of the gods.

Everyone will die even if they are a real saint and I don't mean mother Teresa. The bible says the limit of life is 120 years in the old testament.
Some people believe that when it is your time then there is nothing you can do about it. I STRONGLY DISPUTE this. Do you think that God WILLS a teenager to drive around that curve at 80MPH and get killed???? Absolutely not!

Midge this happened to my dad
many sent healing , prayed for him etc
in the end his heart just went and he had no heart problems
now i agree we cannot cheat death
but in the end with my dad , i prayed that he would be taken quickly and painlessly.... which he was
perhaps how we pray and what we ask for is wrong..
we shouldnt be praying to cling to life, but praying that things are done with ease ?

Its sad. I guess atheists and believers can all be sure of death and taxation. Unless the second coming occurs during our life.

It means that life is unpredictable and tragic things happen. That's it. Coincidences can be great or small... but they still happen.
