I was surprised when I first heard about it, but tomatoes are actually fruits like apples or oranges.
Why's this question under dating? Do you think the forbidden fruit Eve gave to Adam was a tomatoe?

A fruit is grown from a plant. A vegetable is the plant. Since tomatoes grow off a tomato plant they are fruit, unlike carrots or broccoli where you eat the plant itself.

As you can see everyone says fruit because it has seeds inside of it. I always say think what you want which is why I say vegetable seeing as it is grown in a garden. I don't see many apples and oranges gorwing by the string beans and corn. Decide for yourself and check out this link though...

Fruit... anything with seeds is a fruit. Like avacado, it has that HUGE seed in the middle of it.
