I recieved an email this morning about someone who used YA
they have passed away
the email was from his friend simply to thank me for making them smile
I did not know this person was dying and i felt very humble and had a little cry that my words make a small difference
I dont want to go into details about this person as it wasnt made public
but please guys remember
that behind the words on the screen there is a person
and we never know the effect our words have on others
so make them good ones ok ?

Very well put. I am truly sorry for your loss but you at least made someone very happy. Good for you. Sometimes we just get carried away in the moment or in our own problems at the moment. Ya just don't think of what is on the other end. You are so right. Thank you for the eye opener. This just seems like a big party where everybody's identity is hidden. You can speak freely. You made a good point. You're a special person.

Great Post. I think its sad though that it takes something tragic like this to make us realise how precious life is and how we sometimes can forget that words are so important. I had a similar incident recently where a 40 year old friend of the family died in a tragic swimming pool accident, leaving behind a wife and two small children. Life is such a gift, we should never take it for granted.

I send happiness to everyone.

Kind of the friend, kind of you to pass it on. People slip away from Y!A all the time and I guess we think they've just got bored. I slightly wonder if it's a person I remember and would miss, but I'll bear your words in mind instead and think about the people at the other end of the wire. Thanks.

"comfortable reminder" potential which you're doing so kindly, not nagging, or being bossy, or preaching. i don't understand the place or the way you prefer to apply it, so i won't manage to help with the context. in case you're an administrator who needs to remind his branch that their comments are due the following day (and you have not gained any yet), you will desire to to tell each and every physique on your e mail that it particularly is a "comfortable reminder," somewhat than look bossy or impatient.

Hi Pangel,

Thanks for that beautiful sentiment. Its easy to say nice encouraging words to those who we know and care about, but the ability to do the same for strangers often escapes us.

It may do us all good to think before clicking the submit button - am I going to hurt someones feelings with these words? what if I never have the chance to apologise for them?

I couldn't agree more and I suspect that your questions and answers have been for the most part caring and respectful regardless of your beliefs or lack there of. I'm glad you were able to make someone smile.

You're absolutely right. When you are looking at a screen, typing a response to a little picture you seem to lose sight of that.
